Art Cushions

Art Cushions

A range of luxury art cushions was launched via www.Wraptious.com in October 2016 with 3 designs made available to buy in the run up to Christmas. The beautiful quality of the fabric, the colour reproduction and the interest they generated means that I hope to develop more cushion designs in 2017. You can order them by getting in touch with me direct. Coincidentally, some of the artwork colours coincide with the 2017 Pantone Colour of the Year called Greenery! (Jan 2017)

A Spring Morning

New Hand Painted Prints

You may have seen some of these at my 'On the Table' exhibition at The Fountain Gallery in March this year. This new collection involves working directly in paint pens onto fine art prints of earlier paintings, combining my brush and pen styles to create a new integrated aesthetic. They are individually hand-drawn making each version unique with its own title. Shown (at left) is 'A Spring Morning' which looks stunning in a bespoke black frame with acid free mount, price £250. The collection is proving popular and I've teamed up with a great local framer to ensure you get the best finished art to hang on your wall. (April 2016)

Penguins & Polar Bears - October 2015

Working with WWF's youth education team who are raising awareness about the effect of climate change on the species living in the polar regions, a large window installation was produced to help schools and other visitors learn more about this region through art, video and stories. The workshop was part of the annual 'The Big Draw 2015' global drawing festival and took place at their award winning eco building in Woking. See what the children produced with their imaginative colourful narwhals, penguins, fish, birds, plankton and other wildlife on WWF's blogpost and how it all began with Preparation Stage photos (pdf, 1Mb). Award Finalist at Brazilian Embassy - May 2015

It's an honour to be exhibiting as a finalist in the 1st Visual Arts Award at the Embassy of Brazil in London between 5-22 May. This 3 week exhibition in the beautiful Sala Brasil showcases 16 artists whose work celebrates the cross-cultural links between London and Rio. My image, Monuments of Glory Across the Seas, depicts architectural landmarks that I feel reflect the aspirations and achievements of these two dynamic cities. As an artist born in Brazil and living in London, I have a strong affection for both places. The exhibition is open to the public Mon-Fri 11am-6pm and is free. As a visitor you are invited to cast your vote for your favourite piece which automatically enters you into a draw to win the 3rd prize piece of art! Winners are announced on 22 May. See more. Studio Tour – Blog by 'Made By Mrs M'

I love having visitors to the studio and a couple of weeks ago 'Made By Mrs M' spent the morning with me. Owner Kate Marsden is a successful textile designer known especially for her mid-century architectural fabric designs, some of which are currently available at the Royal Academy shop in London. Kate is an avid blogger who shares her passion, knowledge and creative projects with her followers on a regular basis. We chatted about each other's business, shared tips and experiences and finally Kate took some photos of things lying around the studio that she felt you might be interested to see! I hope you'll enjoy the glimpse it offers and that it might inspire you to pick up a paintbrush or visit the studio too. Studio Tour Blog (Feb 2015)

Balloon and Drawing Pins

The Studio's 10th Anniversary

I first moved into my studio in November 2004, when I was in the middle of my degree at Wimbledon. Over the years lots of playful and absorbing experiments have been carried out using everyday objects like balloons covered in drawing pins, flower buds dipped in latex or teddy bears wrapped in brown packing tape. Sketchbooks, photographs, folders with loose drawings, painting jars, old brushes now surround me and consequently I work in a more confined space than when I began! I still love to use objects in my drawings and paintings and enjoy the rich themes of interiors, the home, women and places. Feel free to get in touch any time to come and visit the studio.
